We had a great time in the Venetian Tower, and much
appreciated the excellent facilities. We had very hot,
stuffy weather (in the nineties every day) so were glad of
the a/c and the kitchen fan. We spent most days somewhere
by the sea where we could swim every hour or so, and did
very little sightseeing, apart from trips to Krsk National
Park and Split. We hired a boat and saw something of the
wonderful bay and outer sound - ideal for dinghy sailing,
but we didn't see a single one. The Croatians seem devoted
to motor boats.
The relentless ringing of church bells took some getting
used to, especially the enthusiastic tolling for the 5.30 am
service every morning! But Trogir is very special, and I
would certainly recommend the Tower to anyone wanting to
stay there.
